FAQ
How do I know if my level is good enough for online
lessons?
If you can understand most of the information on this website, then your
English is good enough for online lessons. In case you are not sure
please contact us, so that we can check your level in a free 20-minute trial
lesson.
What languages do you offer?
At the moment, English for all levels and conversation courses in German.
We are also thinking of expanding to other languages in the near future.
Why should I pay more for a native English teacher?
Native speakers are in high demand with companies and professionals,
because they offer a natural pronounciation, word order, and typical
expressions. Of course, there are many other Skype teaching sites on the
web which charge less, but you should always compare the level of
experience of the teacher. Feel free to browse the ‚Recommendations‘
page, to see what past and present students and employers have written
about my lessons, my personality, and the quality of my courses.
How can I pay for lessons?
After your free trial lesson, you can buy as many minutes of teaching as
you wish. We are flexible, and you can take lessons as often as you want.
After payment, the balance remains valid for 6 months. All prices are in
Euros, and you can pay via bank transfer or Paypal.
How do we make contact?
We offer a variety of methods on the „Contact“ page. We suggest writing
an email to make the first contact. When making a phone call, please
check your time zone. We are based in Europe, and the time zone is CET
(Central European Time). If we‘re teaching or sleeping, please leave a
message.
Can I use public places with free internet?
I always suggest learning in a homely, quiet place. Public libraries often
have restrictions on talking, and cafés can be loud.
How will I know if I like the idea?
For finding out if you like the idea of learning a language online, we offer a
free trial lesson. The first lesson is anonymous, and we don‘t ask for any
of your details. If you like it, you can make a payment for one or two
lessons first, and then pay in advance if you need more classes.
Do you offer refunds?
We always advise pupils to pay only for those lessons which are needed.
Refunds can only be made under certain conditions, and to the same
account as the transfer originally came from.
What if there are technical problems?
In the unlikely chance of technical problems, we arrange for a new
lesson, and only deduct the minutes during which we had a good
connection.

What happens if I don‘t show up for a lesson?
If you call at least 24 hours before an appointment, we can arrange a new
time. If there is no answer on the day of the appointment, the teacher will
call at least three times for thirty minutes (Skype protocol). After that
the lesson becomes invalid.
Do I have to sign a contract?
We like to keep things simple, so there is no contract. I will send you a list
with the conditions though, and when you have paid the first lesson, it
means that you also accept the conditions.
Do we have to use Skype as a medium?
There are many free alternatives to using Skype.
Please let me know if you would like to try another service.
Why should I pay for lessons, if there are free sites?
There are many sites on the web, advertizing ‚free English lessons‘.
Some of these could be a good suplement to regular lessons.
Note that many of these ‚free‘ sites, make you pay in some
other way, for example by advertizing and popup windows which appear
regularly, distracting you from your work.
